The Louisiana Campaign for Tobacco-Free Living is searching for young people to join its Louisiana Tobacco and Health Youth Advisory Board (YAB). Potential members should be excited to share their commitment to healthy, tobacco/vaping-free living, while inspiring their friends, families, schools, and communities to take action and help make their communities healthier.
Louisiana Tobacco and Health (YAB)members serve as healthy lifestyle community ambassadors and share feedback on The Louisiana Campaign for Tobacco-Free Living programs and activities. Applicants must be between the ages of 8 and 17 years old when membership begins and live in Louisiana.
Build community among youth health leaders.
Enhance campaigns to prevent tobacco/vaping use among youth.
Collaborate with leaders, at The Louisiana Campaign for Tobacco-Free Living and elsewhere, to ensure that young people’s voices, needs and ideas are integrated into the policies and programs that impact their lives.
The Louisiana Tobacco and Health YAB Application will help us gauge your potential to be a leader and collaborate with others. Please fill in the information and answer the questions to the best of your ability using a variety of personal experiences.
Before committing, please take into consideration the time commitment below.
Louisiana Tobacco and Health YAB meets once a quarter. We are planning for virtual meetings. We have 4 standing meetings a year. There may be additional meetings when we are working on a special event or project.
Subsequent meetings will take place on agreed upon date and time.
All Louisiana Tobacco and Health Youth Advisory Board (YAB) candidates will need to complete the Campaign for Tobacco Free Kids Take Down Tobacco courses.
